Heat up Opals in Microwave ! ? (3)

Heat up 3 min.

The smell of burnt plastic spread all over when 3 minutes end.

Take out plate

Remove a hot plate by hand towels then to the table.

Heated opals

The colour of Triplet opal has changed quite a bit.

Let's see how the opals are ....

Let's begin with Doublet and Triplet Opal.

There wasn't much changes.

As you can see here, the difference is obvious ! There's area where it looks like air bubbles on the back side of Triplet opal, which I believe from extreme temperature while heating in the microwave.

The strong, strange smell was actually a burning smell of glued areas, in between a black plastic base and thin layer of opal.
